Red Maple Farms, in cooperation with the King County Conservation District, is working to provide a quality facility, while protecting streams, managing manure, and providing habitat for beneficial wildlife. By good stewardship of our resources, both horses and the environment benefit.

What we are doing?

  • Monitoring the amounts of bedding used and exploring alternative beddings to minimize the total stall waste produced.

  • Implementing sound manure disposal options to reduce the potentially harmful effects of runoff on streams and ground water.

  • Created a wildlife buffer area around 3/4 of the property which is also used as a path for horse and human.

  • Continue to educate ourselves to be better stewards of the land to enhance our property for our customers, horses, neighborhood, and the environment.

  • Manure Share Program/Compost Available! We are listed in the K.C. Manure Share program. Call for availability and to schedule a pickup time.

What can you do?

  • Be patient as we try new ways of managing our facility.

  • Give us feedback on how you feel the new methods are working.
